CAREERS ADVISOR (MUSIC) – BIMM UNIVERSITY

As a Careers Advisor at BIMM University, you’ll guide and support students and graduates as they prepare for future employment, further study, or freelance opportunities. Working closely with our Careers Managers and academic teams, you’ll play a key role in enhancing employability by connecting students with hands-on work experience, internships, and career opportunities within the creative sector.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide expert advice and 1:1 coaching to students and graduates on career preparation, including CVs, cover letters, interview techniques, and freelance pathways.
- Collaborate with Careers Managers and academic teams to promote creative development programs and freelance opportunities.
- Build and maintain industry relationships with local, regional, and national contacts to secure job placements and internships for students and graduates.
- Write engaging job ads and social media posts to attract candidates for roles and opportunities.
- Track and monitor key metrics such as student coaching sessions, placements, and engagement in career events.
- Organise and assist with career events, both on campus and externally, ensuring professional delivery.
- Support students through recruitment processes and help them secure suitable roles within the industry.
- Champion equity, diversity, and inclusion across all careers and employability activities.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience in a Careers or Employability role within a Higher Education setting, or strong interest in developing a career in this area
- Understanding of current Careers and Employability practices.
- Knowledge and interest in the music/creative Industries
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with students, graduates, and industry partners.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage a varied workload and work to deadlines
- Strong digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and in content creation
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
This is a part time role based on working 30 hours per week.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £23,920.00-£27,040.00 per year
Expected hours: 30 per week
